From the Devs

Philomela: Bird in the Faded Labyrinth is a visual novel where you advance the story by making choices that appear throughout the game.

Every decision the judge makes—faced with lies in the courtroom and the hidden truths behind anonymous letters—is yours alone.

Talk with witnesses, the prosecution, and your colleagues. Read the letters that keep arriving. Piece together what really happened behind the case.

You can also control the protagonist and explore Palermo freely—walk through the solemn courthouse, step into noble mansions, and wander the city streets. Search for clues in different corners, and let the truth come to light.

Depending on your choices, the story may lead to unexpected endings.

＜Story＞

Palermo, the late 19th century.

As a respected judge, you have always believed in the law's justice and your family's honor. In this city, the sound of the gavel is the symbol of order.

Then one day, an unsigned letter appears on your strictly confidential desk. It not only reveals hidden circumstances of a case—it predicts, word for word, the lies a witness is about to testify in court.

In the solemn courtroom, every testimony, every police report, even the atmosphere… all of it unfolds exactly as the letter said it would.

Faced with a flawless performance, do you ignore the truth and play along with the hypocrisy? Or do you become a voiceless bird trapped in a labyrinth of power?

In this courtroom of decency and lies, the true trial has only just begun.
