You play as the Dragonborn in Skyrim, a fantasy province where dragons have returned. The main story follows your role in confronting this threat, but you can set it aside and pursue other paths across the open world.
Travel through towns, wilderness, caves, and ancient ruins; take on quests; join guilds; and fight enemies with weapons, bows, or magic. You can approach combat and exploration in first or third person.
There are no fixed character classes: skills improve as you use them, letting your character develop around your choices. You can also learn dragon shouts and use their powers, alongside a wide selection of weapons, spells, and abilities.
In the supplied reviews, players often praise the freedom to pursue quests or wander off on their own, and the sense of immersion they find in Skyrim’s world and atmosphere. Many describe returning for new characters, discoveries, or modded playthroughs; several also single out the music. Some reviews criticize bugs and the feel of combat.
