Slingshot: Escape the solar system

From the Devs

Gravity is your enemy. It's also your only way out.

Slingshot is a pixel-art orbital mechanics arcade. One rocket. A limited fuel tank. Sun, planets and moons pulling at you from every direction. Thrust at the wrong moment and you're lost to the void. Thrust at the right moment and the solar system becomes a slingshot.

Launch. Explore. Crash.

You will die. A lot. Slingshot rewards patience, observation, and the slow build-up of orbital intuition. And also fuel management. Each crash teaches you something (or maybe not).

Upgrade your ship

Fortunately, every place you explore in the solar system, and every escape allows you to upgrade your ship to make your explorer life a bit easier.

Escape the solar system

Exploring is nice, but once your ship and skills allow it, you will launch again and try to escape the solar system.

You know this is your ultimate goal. You still don't know why, but you have to.

Features

• You control when to burn and in which direction, as long as you have fuel. Thrust prograde at the right instant and gravity takes care of the rest.

• (Almost) real orbital physics. Velocity Verlet integration at 4ms substeps. Every body pulls on you simultaneously. No on-rails trajectories, no fake physics. Okay you don't care, but just to say it might be hard to master.

• 12 technologies to unlock. Efficient thrusters, fuel tank extensions, ion drives, plasma afterburners, phase shields, solar collectors, wormhole generators. Build your ship the way you want to play.

• 100+ achievements. Solar escape runs, destination stars, fuel-efficiency challenges, hidden easter eggs. Rank up from rookie pilot to legend.

• 12 destinations to discover. Each one comes with its own soundtrack that unlocks when you arrive.

Tune in to Spacify

Spaceify is a music player. For astronauts.

You don't know why yet, but every escape destination has it's own soundtrack you need to unlock.

Open the Spacify tab in the pause menu to play them on demand.

How it plays

Launch from Earth. Burn to break the atmosphere. Then the solar system opens up. Mercury hugs the Sun, Venus waits patiently, Mars will throw you outward if you time it right, and Jupiter's gravity well is either your salvation or your grave.

The trick isn't to thrust more. It's to thrust at the right moment : the bottom of your orbit, where every drop of fuel gives you the maximum boost. Learn to read the trajectory line. Learn to trust gravity. Learn to fall with style.

Explore. Every destination matters.

Escaping the solar system is just the beginning. Beyond the Sun's gravity well lies a map of reachable stars — Proxima Centauri, Barnard's Star, Sirius, and more. Each one is a different challenge, a different route, a different song. Some you'll stumble into. Others will take every tech upgrade, every trick, and every ounce of patience you've built up.

The logbook tracks where you've been. The Spacify player remembers every soundtrack you've unlocked. Your ranks, achievements, and fastest escape times persist across every run.

Built for obsession

Slingshot is for players who love physics more than tutorials and precision more than hand-holding. No story mode. No cutscenes. No filler. Just you, a tiny pixel spaceship, a solar system that does not care whether you make it out alive, and a killer soundtrack.
