Cthulhu Go Teaching

From the Devs

✨Go has never been so... 'within tentacle's reach'!

《Cthulhu Go Teaching》is a unique game that fuses cosmic horror Cthulhu elements with traditional Go match-ups.

Matches are no longer dull; you aren't just playing Go—you are testing your wits against a tsundere Lord Cthulhu.

While mastering the game of Go, you will also uncover the hidden, adorable secrets of Lord Cthulhu...

🐙 Play Against Cthulhu

Who knows when it started, but Lord Cthulhu severed his own right brain and installed the most powerful Go AI on Earth—KataGo.

With various difficulty levels, even beginners can have a blast. However, you'll need to get Cthulhu drunk with alcohol to stop him from using his full power! Whether you're a complete novice or a seasoned veteran, Cthulhu will be a perfectly matched opponent.

> "Hmph, the magic says Black is ahead by 3 points... It's not like I wanted to tell you or anything!"

During matches, Cthulhu will summon tentacles from the void to grab and precisely place stones—a delightfully eerie style that makes every game feel like a grand ritual.

🍡 Stones Sticking Together Like Mochi

This is probably the softest and cutest rule in the Go world—stones of the same color will trigger a sticky adhesion effect.

Adjacent, diagonal, knight's move, large spaces, square four... stones in different spatial relationships will display distinct connecting lines, looking like a string of glutinous rice balls sticking together on the board.

Every single stone has its own expression. When a group has only one liberty left, the stones will show a "nervous" face; when you put the opponent in atari, your stones will show a "triumphant" grin.

This is actually Lord Cthulhu's clever design and mercy, letting you know the current tactical situation.

But remember: captured stones must be put straight into the hotpot!

> "Hmph, you better get used to this habit... those who know, know."[/i]

😈 Bring Your Kid to Work Day

There's also Cthulhu's child in the game. It doesn't understand human language yet, but Lord Cthulhu believes that learning Go should start from infancy.

Little Cthulhu will keep you company while you play. You can ask it to calculate the current score difference at any time.

Want to play a mini 9x9 quick match? You can also have Little Cthulhu cast magic to change the board size at will.

In short, it's your handy little cosmic assistant.

🎵 Excellent Taste in Music

Cthulhu loves music too! After all, with so many tentacles, a single Cthulhu can play a whole orchestra of instruments!

Multiple background tracks are available to switch between, and Cthulhu will definitely judge your taste in music.

Where did these vinyl records come from? Rumor has it they were sent by Cthulhu's mother from a distant planet.

Having spent an absolute fortune in "mochi balls," Cthulhu is still bitter about the fact that shipping to Earth didn't include free delivery. But hey, who told him to love music so much?

These tracks include:

《Don't Fear My Gentle Tentacles》

《Black Rain Falls When I Lose》

《Stones and the Cosmic Stars》

《Omnipotent and Omniscient But Can't Remember Joseki》
