Wretched Tales:Cinderella

From the Devs

Wretched Tales: Cinderella is a 2D point-and-click puzzle adventure that reimagines the classic fairy tale of Cinderella through the lens of a dark and twisted tale.

The player explores each scene through the eyes of Cinderella, left behind in an old house.
The goal on the surface is familiar: finish the chores, complete the preparations, and meet the conditions required to go to the ball.

But in this world, solving problems is never ordinary.

Objects slowly lose their original purpose, chores turn into strange procedures, and beauty is shaped by peculiar standards.
Players must click objects throughout each scene, use items, observe small changes, and uncover the rules behind each puzzle.

The puzzles in this game are not simply about entering codes or collecting items.
The position of an object, its altered appearance, repeated reactions, and wordless icons can all become clues.
You will obtain things, place them somewhere, use something else on them, and confirm the strange logic of each scene with your own hands.

Behind the fairy tale lies a dark world known as Querencia.
There, familiar objects and familiar goals work in unfamiliar ways.
Players must move between the fairy-tale world and Querencia, connecting clues, items, and changes in objects to solve puzzles.

Key Features

• Point-and-click puzzles that ask you to read the rules of each scene

  • Investigate objects within static 2D scenes, and use small reactions and changes in state as clues to solve puzzles.

  • The answers are not hidden in written explanations.
They are hidden in the position, shape, transformation, and repeated reactions of objects within the scene.

• Object-based interactions that happen inside the scene

  • Obtain items and use them on specific objects in scenes or Zoom screens to progress.

  • Instead of combining items inside the inventory, you solve puzzles by placing items directly into the scene and connecting them with other items or objects.

• Familiar fairy-tale goals, solved in grotesquely twisted ways

  • Familiar Cinderella goals appear throughout the game: chores, dressing up, invitations, and the ball.

  • But the process of reaching those goals is uncomfortable, strange, and sometimes darkly absurd.

• Twisted Fairy Tales, Characters Rewritten

  • Under the influence of an unseen entity, the fairy tales we know are twisted into something strange and sinister.

  • Players solve puzzles by connecting clues hidden within altered objects and environments, uncovering the desires and secrets of characters long overshadowed by the protagonists.

• An unpleasant yet absurd dark fairy-tale tone

  • This is a game where strange rules linger more than horror, broken order matters more than gore, and silence remains louder than screams.

  • Even as players solve each problem, they may begin to question whether the result they completed was ever truly right.

What You Will Do

Investigate old rooms.
Click small objects, remember strange reactions, and discover the hidden rules inside each scene.

Read the condition note, sort grains mixed into ash, repair incomplete things, and reshape the world into something that can be invited.

This is the story of Cinderella going to the ball.

No one said the path would be beautiful.
