After a terrorist attack in Bonton, you become the first human researcher for Orwell, a government security program that monitors citizens’ online activity. Your job is to investigate people connected to the case and help security forces identify potential culprits.
Work through a computer interface containing web pages, social posts, news articles, emails, chats, and private files. Select information from these sources, add it to citizen profiles, and connect details to build a picture of the people under investigation.
You decide which selected information to pass to the authorities and which to withhold. Your reports influence how suspects are perceived and affect the course of the investigation, leading to different outcomes.
In the supplied reviews, players who enjoy Orwell often highlight its surveillance premise and the moral uncertainty of deciding what to report. They describe the fragmented online evidence and character stories as engaging, and appreciate how information choices can affect the investigation and its outcome. The text-led format and atmosphere also appeal to players looking for a deliberate, narrative-focused experience.
