50 Years is a fast-paced alternative to the bigger, longer turn-based strategy games. You can win or lose a game in a single evening. Either way you'll want to play it again.

You guide a nation through 50 years, with each turn representing one year. The goal is to keep your people and army alive through the run.
Develop your economy by farming resources and building structures, or invest in troops to prepare for attacks. Battles play out automatically, so your preparation and army composition determine the outcome.
Choose a nation with its own abilities, then experiment with different development paths and belief-based buffs for your economy or army. Random events and selectable difficulty levels give each run different challenges.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its short runs, straightforward but consequential choices, and the urge to restart with a different strategy. Reviews also appreciate balancing economic growth against military strength, along with nation and belief options and difficulty settings. Some players find the systems too simple or predictable, and several note that combat is automatic rather than directly controlled.
