Set in 1944, fifteen years after the Thugtown Massacre, the story follows mobster Vinnie Cannoli as old loose ends pull him into the European battlefields of World War II. He fights to uncover who is pursuing him and turning former allies into enemies.
Move through side-scrolling levels, shooting gangs, soldiers, zombies, and other foes. Aim in any direction, switch weapons with a weapon wheel, and use double jumps, kicks, jump-kicks, and dodge rolls to handle enemy attacks and navigate encounters.
The campaign moves through wartime environments and includes animated cutscenes, enemy waves, and boss fights. Explosive barrels and other scenery can be used against enemies, while doors, walls, cars, and crates offer opportunities for destructive attacks.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its responsive free-aim combat, added mobility, and varied weapons, along with its comic-book visuals and dark humor. Some also like its brisk campaign and boss fights. Many reviews, including from players who otherwise enjoyed the game, report that online co-op is unavailable; opinions also differ on the challenge and controls.
Welcome to the 1940’s. Europe is being torn apart by the war, the USA is preparing for battle and the mob does business as usual. Only this time they went too far, even for Vinnie’s standards.
Prepare yourself to go to war after you make a shocking discovery about what actually happened during the end-stage of the Thugtown Massacre from Guns, Gore & Cannoli 1.
"Just when you thought you were out, we’re pulling you back in!"
