Set during the First Cylon War, the game puts you in command of the Colonial Fleet from the mobile shipyard Daidalos. Lead the defense of the Twelve Colonies through a campaign featuring the war’s military and political conflicts.
Battles use a WEGO system: plan orders for your ships, then watch both sides carry them out simultaneously. Position fleets in three dimensions, manage movement and weapon angles, and deploy capital ships, Viper squadrons, and Raptor scouts against Cylon forces.
Between battles, manage fleets across a strategic map, recruit officers, and allocate resources to defend the Colonies and maintain the Quorum alliance. Unlock blueprints for ships, weapons, and squadrons as you progress; the game also includes skirmishes and one-on-one multiplayer fleet battles.
Players who praise the game often point to its deliberate fleet tactics, where positioning and planning orders together make battles satisfying to watch unfold. Reviews also frequently appreciate its Battlestar Galactica setting, ship designs, music, and cinematic battle replays. Some players found the pace slow, the missions repetitive, or the controls and interface difficult to learn; many reviews also express frustration that the game and its DLC were removed from sale.
