XCOM: Chimera Squad delivers an all-new story and turn-based tactical combat experience in the XCOM universe.
Developed by Firaxis Games · Published by 2K

Set five years after XCOM 2, the game takes place in City 31, where humans and former alien soldiers are trying to coexist. You lead Chimera Squad, a mixed team of human and alien agents tasked with confronting threats to the city’s uneasy peace.
Missions unfold across short, separate combat encounters. Before each encounter, you choose how agents breach the room; once inside, agents and enemies take turns in an alternating initiative order. Each named agent has distinct abilities, and squad composition and coordinated skills shape your approach to fights.
Between missions, you manage operations at the squad’s headquarters: investigating threats, assigning agents, researching technology, and equipping the team. You also respond to unrest across City 31’s districts, balancing these tasks as tensions rise.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its tactical remix of the XCOM formula: room breaches and alternating turns give encounters a different pace, while agents’ distinct abilities create opportunities for combos. Some also appreciate the postwar setting and the chance to play a mixed human-alien squad. Other reviewers find the missions repetitive or the tactical systems less deep than in earlier XCOM games.
