In 1987, a body beneath a bridge draws two federal agents into Thimbleweed Park, a strange town of eccentric residents and tangled personal stories. Their investigation connects them with three other playable characters, each with their own reasons to explore the town.
Explore locations, talk to residents, inspect objects, and use a classic point-and-click verb interface to solve puzzles. The story moves between five characters, whose separate inventories, skills, and access to places can all matter as their paths cross.
Progress by collecting clues and items, combining them with the right people or objects, and following puzzle chains through the town. Casual and Hard modes offer different levels of challenge, and an in-game hint hotline can offer help when you get stuck.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its classic point-and-click design, satisfying puzzles, quirky humor, and offbeat characters, with pixel art and nostalgic atmosphere also recurring highlights. Some reviewers find the puzzles opaque or the character juggling cumbersome, and many criticize the story’s ending, though opinions on it differ.
