Play as a robot tasked with stopping the Megabeast, exploring a labyrinth that is procedurally generated anew for each run.
Search for secrets, fight enemies, and collect randomized weapons, artifacts, and power-ups that help you overcome obstacles and reach new areas.
Death ends a run, while achievements unlock content for future attempts. The game also offers local co-op and split-screen deathmatch for up to four players.
Players often enjoy the blend of Super Metroid-style exploration and movement with randomized roguelite runs, especially the changing maps, replayability, and variety of weapons and upgrades. Some also like the secrets and unlockable content. Criticisms include the resets after death, repetitive or slow stretches, and frustration with hidden passages and uneven map layouts.
