Hinako Shirai returns to Hoshinomiya Girls' High School after a leg injury disrupted her ballet ambitions. Magical sisters Yuzu and Lime give her the power to become a Reflector, drawing her into a fight to protect the world while she pursues her own wish.
At school, Hinako spends time with classmates, builds friendships, and takes on requests to help with their problems. These character-focused stories are part of the main progression, with social interactions and completed requests contributing to her growth.
Hinako also enters the Common, where she searches for items and fights enemies to complete missions. Battles use a turn-based timeline system and a shared Ether gauge for actions such as strengthening attacks or defending; skill fragments can add effects to abilities. School life and Common missions lead toward confrontations with the Sephira.
Players who enjoy the game often highlight its soundtrack, character designs, and dreamlike school atmosphere, along with the magical-girl premise and personal stories about classmates. Some find the turn-based combat and emotional tone relaxing, while others say encounters and missions become repetitive or too easy; opinions on the story and character writing also vary.
