The Monster Inside

You follow a private investigator drawn into a case involving a mysterious woman and a series of unusual deaths. As he pursues the investigation, he also struggles with a strange illness and a past that shadows his work.

The story unfolds through text and point-and-click scenes. You read dialogue and narration, then inspect selected crime scenes by clicking clues in the environment.

The linear story is divided into seven chapters and uses a small set of diorama-like settings with noir music. Dialogue options appear, but the investigation proceeds along a fixed path rather than branching into meaningfully different outcomes.

Players often praise the noir mood, visual presentation, and music, and some find the short mystery engaging or surprising. Reviews also repeatedly describe the experience as very brief and mostly reading with limited interaction; some note that choices have little effect and wish the story offered more time to develop.
