You play as one of the few humans left in a zombie apocalypse, holding off waves alone or in co-op for up to four players. The goal is to survive as long as you can against increasingly dangerous attacks.
Combat is played from a top-down view, with more than 20 weapons to use against five types of zombies and four bosses. Between waves, a shop lets you buy ammunition, weapons, barricades, traps, lights, and turrets, then build and upgrade your defenses.
In the wave mode, kills earn experience and skill points that persist between games, which you can spend to unlock perks and weapons. There are 40 waves, while Endless Mode removes the shop and leveling for survival-focused play.
Some reviewers enjoy the straightforward zombie-shooting challenge, especially the mix of guns and buildable defenses. Co-op with friends is a recurring draw, while others appreciate being able to tackle the waves solo. Several describe it as a simple, easy-to-understand game for short or casual sessions.
