Set in the late 1980s, the game puts you in control of a VL10 electric locomotive on a roughly 840-kilometer railway route through Siberia. Choose a train-driving career, a survival-focused mode, or a story mode involving work for the Soviet mafia.
Operate the locomotive using simplified or realistic controls, follow railway signs and signals, and transport freight to earn money. Parts wear down and need replacing, while shops let you buy supplies and equipment or trade goods for cash.
You can leave the cab to explore stations and other locations, hunt wildlife, and use weapons for self-defense or missions. Hunger, thirst, illness, cold, alcohol, changing weather, and the day-night cycle add survival considerations to the journey.
