You play as Igor, a physicist returning to Pripyat to investigate the disappearance of his fiancée. In the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the search unfolds through a science-fiction story with hostile soldiers, strange creatures, and clues to a mystery tied to his past.
Each day, choose a mission and explore a compact zone for supplies, clues, and objectives. Avoid patrols with stealth or confront them in first-person combat, then return to your hideout to craft equipment and build useful stations.
Recruit companions, assign them to missions, and manage their needs and equipment. Your choices affect relationships and events, while an investigation system and a device for revisiting past decisions let you pursue different outcomes.
