You command a small unit of insurgents during the 1944 Warsaw Uprising, beginning with three fighters and trying to survive its 63 days. Missions draw on events from the uprising while following the stories and backgrounds of individual characters.
Explore Warsaw’s streets, alleys, secret passages and ruins, then lead your squad through turn-based encounters. Use fighters’ different skills and weapons, manage ammunition, and decide when to engage or retreat. Search enemy positions and armories for supplies.
Develop fighters by improving their skills and build a team suited to the challenges ahead. Historical photographs, documents, character information and a day-by-day timeline add context; the city’s landscape also changes as the fighting causes more destruction.
Reviews value the game’s historical material, the atmosphere of the uprising and, for some players, its character stories and tactical battles. Others find the combat or strategy systems weak, imbalanced or frustrating. A recurring point of division is the change from the earlier WARSAW version: some reviewers object to the loss of its broader uprising-management layer, while others appreciate the current version’s more focused story and missions.
