After transferring to a Tokyo high school, the protagonist joins the Phantom Thieves, a group that enters distorted worlds shaped by corrupt people’s desires. Their goal is to steal the source of those desires and spur their targets to change.
Days follow a calendar, and the player chooses how to spend limited free time: attend school, explore Tokyo, build relationships, or take on dungeon missions. Time spent with friends and other contacts deepens bonds and can unlock useful abilities.
