SAMURAI MAIDEN

A young woman from the 21st century arrives at Honnō-ji during the Sengoku period. As demons and enraged corpses threaten the area, she joins three ninja companions and fights through the Underworld beneath the temple.

Play as the swordswoman in mission-based action, using light and heavy sword attacks, aerial moves, dodges, and parries. The three allies follow along and can be ordered to use their ninja skills; a special technique links the heroine and a companion to strengthen their abilities.

Shorter side missions explore the companions’ stories and relationships. Fighting alongside them builds bonds that unlock scenes and combat abilities, while weapon upgrades, additional skills, and multiple difficulty levels provide further progression.

Players who enjoyed the game often singled out the characters and their relationships, including romantic interactions and side stories, as its main draw. Some also liked the character designs and found the sword-and-ninja combat entertaining, especially as more moves and abilities became available. Recurring criticisms included repetitive, shallow, or stiff combat, limited enemy variety, and lengthy dialogue scenes; some reviewers also raised concerns about controls, presentation, or the price.
