Batman is trapped inside Arkham City, a walled-off section of Gotham turned into a prison for the city’s criminals. He must survive its gang-controlled streets while investigating what is happening and confronting a roster of familiar villains.
Explore the city by gliding and grappling between rooftops, investigate crime scenes and side missions, and solve environmental puzzles. Encounters let you fight with timed combos and gadgets or use vantage points, tools, and silent takedowns to outmaneuver armed groups.
Combat and exploration earn experience for new skills and gadget upgrades. Riddler puzzles and collectibles, challenge maps, and additional playable characters extend the campaign; this edition also includes DLC such as the Harley Quinn’s Revenge story.
In the supplied reviews, players often praise the fluid combo combat, the freedom of gliding and grappling across a dense city, and the dark atmosphere and cast of villains.
