Play as one of five H.U.N.T. operatives sent to confront a cult force in a single-player campaign spanning more than 20 levels.
Fight through enemy-filled stages with a large arsenal of outlandish weapons, including the Flamewall, Firebomb, and Excalibat. Levels also mix shooting with traps, jumps, hidden areas, secrets, and collectibles.
Each operative has a different play style, and special pickups activate modes such as God, Elasto, Mercury, Shrooms, and Dog. The game also offers online multiplayer, tools for creating and sharing levels, achievements, and a choice between remastered and original music.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its fast, chaotic old-school shooting, forceful weapons, and playful excess. The soundtrack—especially the option to use the classic music—and the silly humor also stand out in positive reviews. Enjoyment is mixed with frequent complaints about bugs, crashes, awkward platforming, and unreliable saves.
