Maxwell uses a magical notebook to bring written words into the world. After his twin sister Lily is cursed, he sets out to help people and gather the Starites needed to aid her.
In each puzzle, read what someone needs, then type a fitting noun to summon an object or character. You can also apply adjectives to change things, experimenting with different answers to complete tasks.
Explore themed levels, complete Starite challenges, and collect Starites to unlock more areas. A backpack stores previously summoned objects, while the Object Creator lets you make and share custom creations; hints and Starite Vision can help locate nearby objectives.
Players frequently enjoy the freedom to solve puzzles with their own words and experiment with unexpected ideas, often finding the results funny and relaxing. Reviews also praise the game's charm and nostalgic appeal, and some appreciate how it encourages vocabulary use. Common reservations include puzzles becoming repetitive or too easy, extra completion tasks feeling like a grind, and reports of freezes when switching away from the game.
