Play as Richard “Demo Dick” Marcinko, a US special operator sent behind the Iron Curtain to investigate a suspected North Korean ballistic missile program. The single-player campaign follows his mission through Cold War-era enemy territory.
Move through enemy areas using stealth or direct combat. A silenced pistol and close-range takedowns let you eliminate guards quietly, while firearms and explosives support open firefights. Takedowns play out in scripted animations.
The campaign progresses through a sequence of mission levels, with weapons available to pick up along the way. Rogue Warrior also includes online multiplayer combat.
Players who enjoy Rogue Warrior often describe it as “so bad it’s good,” with Mickey Rourke’s profanity-heavy performance and outrageous one-liners providing much of the humor. Some also appreciate the takedown animations and the brief campaign. Other reviews find the shooting and mission design unremarkable, and recurring reports of PC stability problems can make the game difficult to play.
