You play Sherlock Holmes, working alongside Dr. Watson to investigate six separate cases in Victorian England. The investigations cover crimes such as murders, thefts, and missing persons.
Explore locations, inspect crime scenes and objects, observe people for clues, and question suspects and witnesses. Research clues in reference archives and use puzzles or reconstructions to uncover further evidence.
Connect evidence on a deduction board to develop theories and reach conclusions about each case. You can select among possible suspects, including reaching a wrong conclusion, then decide how to treat the person you accuse.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its hands-on investigations, deduction system, and varied cases, which let them weigh clues and reach their own conclusions. Reviewers also appreciate the Victorian atmosphere and the choice of what happens to an accused person. Criticism commonly mentions crashes, long travel and loading transitions, and interactions or puzzles that can feel clunky or unclear.
