Play as Sherlock Holmes in London, solving a sequence of criminal cases while a personal story involving his daughter runs alongside the investigations.
Explore locations for evidence, inspect objects and crime scenes, question witnesses, and assess suspects. Holmes records findings that you can connect into deductions and theories about what happened.
Solve puzzles and minigames, with some sections shifting into chases, stealth, or timed action. At the end of a case, choose whom to accuse and how to judge them; your conclusions and decisions can affect the outcome.
Players who enjoy the game often praise investigating its cases, gathering clues, and connecting them into deductions, along with the London atmosphere and story. Some find the puzzles and varied activities engaging, while others feel that frequent action sequences and minigames interrupt the detective work, and opinions differ on the overarching story.
