Rebel Galaxy

You command a heavily armed starship and make your way through a dangerous galaxy. You can pursue work as a trader, bounty hunter, pirate, or something in between, while following a light story and choosing your own priorities.

Combat takes place on a flat plane, making battles feel like naval engagements: turn your ship to bring its broadsides to bear, use turrets and other weapons, and manage your defenses. Between fights, you can take missions, trade goods, mine asteroids, scavenge wreckage, and explore anomalies.

Missions and other activities earn credits for new ships and upgrades, including weapons and defenses. Faction choices affect your reputation, while tougher missions and enemies encourage you to improve your ship as you move through the galaxy.

Players often enjoy the distinctive broadside-style space battles, approachable combat, and freedom to mix missions with trading, mining, and ship upgrades. The blues- and rock-influenced soundtrack and space-western atmosphere are recurring highlights. Some players find the mission loop repetitive or the story underdeveloped, and a few report losing save progress.
