Set in 1930s Egypt, Strange Brigade follows a team of agents confronting the resurrected witch queen Seteki and her undead forces. Play alone or join up to three other players in a campaign through ancient ruins.
Fight mummies and other supernatural enemies in third-person firefights, using firearms, grenades, character abilities, and environmental traps. Between battles, search levels for hidden routes and treasure, and solve puzzles to open doors and reach secrets.
Find gold to acquire weapons and collect gems to modify them. Each character also has an amulet power charged by gathering enemy souls. Beyond the campaign, Score Attack challenges players to pursue high scores, while Horde mode tests how long they can survive waves of enemies.
Reviewers often enjoy Strange Brigade most as a lighthearted co-op adventure, praising the chaotic fights with friends and the mix of shooting, puzzles, and exploration. The witty narrator and pulpy Egyptian setting are frequent highlights. Some reviewers find the campaign repetitive or short, and solo play less engaging; opinions on the shooting feel vary.
