Paint the Town Red is a first-person melee brawler set in scenarios across different places and time periods, including bars, discos, and Western saloons. You fight groups of voxel enemies, using punches, kicks, and weapons found around each location.
Combat is physics-driven: many objects can be picked up and used, and enemies can be damaged dynamically. Scenario modifiers can change the rules of a fight, while Arena challenges and Endless mode offer survival-focused play.
Beneath is a roguelite campaign in which you explore underground, battle monsters and bosses, and unlock upgrades. It includes classes with different stats and abilities. You can also play co-op, test ideas in a sandbox, or create and share custom levels through the editor and Workshop.
Players often enjoy the reactive, physics-driven brawling and the freedom to turn nearby objects into weapons. Reviews also praise custom Workshop levels for adding variety, and some players highlight co-op and the Beneath campaign. Other reviewers find the scenarios repetitive or the extra modes less appealing.
