You arrive on Tacoma, an abandoned space station, as a contractor tasked with recovering its AI. The six-person crew is gone, and your investigation uncovers how they lived and worked there before a disaster.
Explore the station, opening doors and drawers and examining personal belongings, notes, and digital communications. These details reveal the crew’s routines, relationships, and individual stories.
The station’s AR system recreates recorded events as animated scenes around you. Rewind or fast-forward them, move among overlapping conversations, and follow different crew members’ parallel story threads to piece together what happened. The experience has no combat and is not focused on puzzles.
Players who enjoy Tacoma often praise its interactive AR recordings, which let them follow different characters and piece together events, as well as the detailed, lived-in station and the crew’s relationships. Many also value its atmosphere, voice performances, and compact, relaxed pace. Some reviewers found the central plot less compelling than the character stories, and others felt the brief runtime or limited active gameplay left them wanting more.
