Lloyd and his companions set out to accompany the Chosen on a pilgrimage to regenerate their declining world. Their journey through a fantasy realm gradually brings them into contact with a second world, with the fate of both at stake.
Travel between towns, dungeons, and an overworld map, taking on story events, optional quests, and puzzle-filled temple challenges. Skit conversations let the party talk along the way and reveal more about their relationships.
Battles take place in real time, where you control a party member and combine attacks, special techniques, and magic. Develop the party through battles and character progression, and share control of characters in local co-op during fights.
Players often single out the story and character cast, enjoying the party’s relationships and the journey’s emotional turns. Reviews also praise the music, the fantasy-world atmosphere, and the option to play battles together locally. Opinions on the combat and dungeons are more mixed, and some players feel the game’s age or PC version’s limitations affect the experience.
