Secret of Mana

As Randi, you set out with Primm and Popoi to restore the Mana Sword and bring the world's fading elemental magic back. The adventure takes the party across varied locations as they encounter monsters, allies, and new threats.

Combat unfolds in real time: attack with different weapons, time strikes around a readiness gauge, and cast elemental spells. You can also pause the action to choose items or magic from character menus, and play locally with up to two other players.

Defeating bosses awards weapon orbs, while using weapons and spells builds their respective levels and develops the party's magical abilities. This 3D remake adds voiced dialogue and conversations between the party at inns; players can switch between the new and original soundtracks.

Players who enjoy the remake often appreciate revisiting the original adventure and its familiar story and gameplay, along with local co-op, the option to switch back to the original music, and added conversations between party members at inns. Others enjoy the updated presentation or voice work, though opinions on those changes vary.
