After an acid-rain disaster unleashes a virus and zombies, you play as an intelligent animal survivor in the wasteland. Your goal is to help protect an Energy Core that powers an unfinished rocket project meant to end the catastrophe.
Between timed zombie attacks, explore ruins, fight enemies, complete missions, and gather weapons and materials. You can return to base with your finds and decide how to use them to prepare for the next assault.
Build and strengthen base defenses, equip turrets with weapons you find, and recruit mercenaries to help guard the base or join expeditions. Resources also go toward facilities and the rocket project; the supplied material describes separate multiplayer activities such as soccer and wave defense.
