On Pandora, you play as a Vault Hunter caught in a fight against the Hyperion Corporation and its leader, Handsome Jack. The campaign follows your pursuit of revenge and redemption across the planet.
Shoot creatures, bandits, and mechanical enemies in first-person combat, then search for weapons and gear to improve your loadout. Procedurally generated guns come in many varieties, while shields, grenades, class mods, and other equipment add further options.
Choose a Vault Hunter with distinct abilities and skill trees, complete story and side missions, and build your character as you level up. You can play solo or join up to three others in drop-in, drop-out co-op, carrying your gear between games.
In this review sample, players who enjoy the game often highlight its varied weapons and satisfying loot chase, memorable characters and story—especially Handsome Jack—and its humor. Many also praise the different Vault Hunter playstyles, co-op, and the amount of replayable content. Some reviewers find the loot and XP grind or mission backtracking tedious; others report trouble connecting in co-op or object to account and terms changes.
