Overlord Zenon’s curse is transforming Veldime’s people into demons. Adell, the only person unaffected, sets out to confront Zenon, but accidentally summons his daughter Rozalin instead. Their journey brings them together with an eccentric cast as they pursue a way to end the curse.
Battles unfold on grid-based maps, where positioning, elevation, terrain effects, and team attacks shape each turn. You can lift and throw units, combine attacks, and use or disrupt Geo Panels to change the conditions of a fight.
Build a squad from more than 200 classes, develop characters, and reincarnate them to reshape their growth. The Item World offers randomly generated floors inside equipment, where you can strengthen your gear; the Dark Council, Stack Attack, Axel Mode, Dark World, and Land of Carnage add further systems and challenges.
Players regularly praise the flexible grid battles and the deep character-growth systems, which make experimentation and extended play rewarding. The comic cast and story also appeal to many, though some reviewers prefer the writing of other entries. The long progression loop is a draw for some players and excessive grinding for others; opinions on the PC port and interface also vary.
