After crash-landing on the planet Stygia, exiled Dead Echo member Grayson Hunt faces a choice between pursuing revenge against the commander who betrayed him and getting his crew off the planet alive.
This first-person shooter sends Grayson through a linear campaign of combat and set pieces against Stygia’s mutated inhabitants. A leash pulls enemies within reach, while kicks and interactive hazards let players fling foes into traps, off ledges or into other dangers.
The Skillshot system awards points for creative kills. Those points can be spent on ammunition, weapon upgrades and charged shots, encouraging experimentation with the arsenal and surroundings. The edition also includes score-challenge and co-operative multiplayer maps.
In the supplied reviews, players repeatedly enjoy the Skillshot system, which makes fights a playground for creative kills using the leash, kicks, weapons and environmental hazards. They also praise the fast, chaotic combat and often find the over-the-top humor entertaining. Some reviewers value the varied weapons and striking locations, while others criticize the short campaign, writing or technical and movement problems.
