WORKS: Motorsport Factory

From the Devs

WORKS: Motorsport Factory is a top-down tycoon sim about everything that happens before a racing car reaches the circuit.

Manage a motorsport team from the ground up: staff, facilities, car design and development while trying to stay competitive on a limited budget. Secure sponsors, hire mechanics, source parts and keep the operation running long enough to make it to race day.

Five tiers of motorsport stand between your workshop and the being the most prestigious team in motorsport. Progress is not a straight climb - it’s a long-term struggle of financial pressure, technical setbacks and outperforming better-funded rivals.

You manage the operation that makes the racing possible.

Build the car. Prepare the spares. Manage the crew. Get the right driver in the seat. Load the truck. Get everything out of the factory and to the circuit before the departure deadline.

While you wait at the factory the racing happens, watch the timing screens and wait.

When the results come in your work begins again worn parts, crash damage and everything you learned about the car.

Your crew goes to work. Deliveries arrive. Builders get back to work on the new section of the garage.

Every job takes time. Every job needs someone to do it.

Where you put things, who you hire, how your workshop is laid out and what your crew is doing right now all matter. The factory isn't a menu. It's a working place.

Each part has a story. Each part has a lifespan. A brand new part at race one is not the same at the end of a season.

Performance drops off, wear accumulates and eventually a part will fail. Run it too hard and repair it too much and it won't perform the same again.

You can design parts for performance, endurance or reliability but getting the right balance to cover all three can be impossible

Every part has a breaking point. Every part has a finite mileage lifespan. Every part has a performance drop-off that only reveals itself under real conditions.

The better your facilities and the stronger your technical staff, the more of the truth you can uncover. And in a sport where tenths of a second matter, knowledge is often more valuable than raw performance.

Five tiers of racing with many routes to reach the top. Whether it's from Karting to Open Wheel or Banger racing to Touring Cars, you're picking the route.

Getting into the next series isn't just about winning.

Drivers have careers of their own. Rivals develop. Sponsors can be offended. Contracts have teeth. Regulations change. Last year's dominance can become deemed illegal next season.

You might have the fastest car and no money to run it.

You might have the best driver and nothing worth putting them in.

You might spend an entire season fighting for the last championship point that keeps the team alive.

Grow from a workshop into a full constructor with a design studio, machine shop, wind tunnel and crash-test facilities. Design and develop your own cars part by part.

The costs are high but the rewards come in trophies and expansions

The factory is the game, the race is the exam

• A complete part lifecycle
scavenge, buy, test, wear, break, design and manufacture.

• Build your own technology
develop components in-house, from basic roll-cages and suspension through to chassis, gearboxes and engines

• Off-screen racing simulation
every race produces consequences: results, points, prize money, wear and damage.

• 5 tiers of motorsport, multiple series to choose from
with multiple paths through a career.

• Drivers with careers of their own
recruit, develop, poach and eventually build a youth academy.

• A real business to keep alive
sponsors, contracts, loans, expenses and insolvency.

• A factory you've built from the ground up
build rooms, road networks, race bays and workshops even a test track.

• Regulations that change the game
technology that dominated last season may be obsolete or illegal next season, motorsport chews out teams who don't adapt.

• Race reports based on a full race simulation
Parts you race, the contracts you sign, the drivers and mechanics track side all have an impact in your race performance
