Set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the game casts you as mercenary pilot Dash Rendar. You help the Rebel Alliance protect Luke Skywalker from Prince Xizor, leader of the Black Sun crime syndicate.
The campaign shifts between third-person combat on foot and vehicle missions. Pilot a snowspeeder on Hoth, take on space battles, and travel through locations including Mos Eisley, Imperial City and Ord Mantell.
Missions also feature speeder bikes, hovertrains and jet packs, with shooting, exploration and boss encounters among the activities. The single-player campaign advances through a series of distinct levels.
Players who enjoy the game often point to its range of mission types and its Star Wars atmosphere, with music and familiar settings adding to the appeal. Nostalgia is a recurring reason players value it, while some also praise the story and boss encounters. Other reviews say dated controls and technical problems can get in the way of those strengths.
