After her father's funeral, Elisabeth enters the old house he left her and follows a black cat into the basement. There, a demon appears and offers to show her a way out. As she wanders the house and its dreamlike spaces, she struggles to tell whether what she sees is memory or imagination.
Explore rooms, inspect objects, collect items, and solve puzzles to open new paths. Books, diaries, reports, and other scattered clues invite you to connect details and uncover more about the people and events tied to the manor.
The story draws on Faust and unfolds through fragmented discoveries as Elisabeth tries to escape. The game includes multiple endings, with further details and an additional ending available through continued exploration.
In the supplied reviews, players often praise the illustrated art, music, and layered story, as well as the uneasy atmosphere created without depending on frequent jump scares. Many find the puzzles satisfying and connected to the setting, while others say their difficulty, unclear clues, and the size of the map can make progress frustrating.
