You play as agent Rico Rodriguez, sent to the island nation of Panau to find his missing friend and mentor. Agency and faction missions draw you into a struggle over the island’s leadership.
Travel by land, sea, and air, or combine a grappling hook with a parachute to swing, glide, climb, and hijack vehicles. The grapple can also tether objects and enemies, making movement and combat open to improvisation.
Explore settlements, military bases, and varied regions while completing missions, challenges, and location objectives. Destruction builds Chaos, which advances progression and unlocks later missions; money and collectibles support upgrades and Black Market supplies.
Players often enjoy the grapple-and-parachute movement, the freedom to improvise, and the spectacle of causing destruction across Panau’s large map. Several also praise exploring its varied regions and using its many vehicles. Recurring reservations include repetitive activities and a weak story, while some players report crashes or compatibility problems on PC.
Dive into an adrenaline-fuelled free-roaming adventure. As agent Rico Rodriguez, your orders are to find and kill your friend and mentor who has disappeared on the island paradise of Panau. There, you must cause maximum chaos by land, sea and air to shift the balance of power. With the unique grapple and parachute combo, BASE jump, hijack and create your own high-speed stunts. With 400 square miles of rugged terrain and hundreds of weapons and vehicles, Just Cause 2 defies gravity and belief.
