Aperion is on the precipice of ruin. You are the last of the Valorian knights, god-like warriors able to equip Valorplates, legendary armor sets that transform wielders into unstoppable masters of melee combat. Ascend in Godfall, the first-of-its-kind, looter-slasher, melee action-RPG.

In a bright fantasy world on the brink of ruin, you play as a Valorian knight confronting the threat posed by Macros. The campaign takes you through elemental realms and into battles against their enemies and bosses.
Combat centers on melee fighting with five weapon classes, including longswords, polearms, warhammers, greatswords, and dual blades. You can combine attacks with dodges, parries, and weapon techniques, while Valorplates and their abilities support different combat styles.
Defeating enemies and completing challenges earns experience, equipment, and materials for developing your character and refining builds. Alongside the campaign, Dreamstones, the Ascended Tower of Trials, Lightbringer, and Spirit Realms offer further challenges and loot; the game is designed for solo play and online co-op.
Players who enjoy Godfall often point to its responsive, weighty melee combat and the satisfaction of learning attack timing, parries, and combos. Reviews also praise the armor and visual design, weapon variety, and the loot-driven process of improving gear and experimenting with builds. Others find the fights and grinding repetitive, and many raise concerns about the always-online requirement and unreliable or unavailable co-op; opinions on the combat and presentation vary.
