Set during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands, the campaign follows Staff Sergeant Matt Baker and the 101st Airborne Division. As Baker, you lead soldiers through the effort to secure routes through enemy-held territory.
Combat combines first-person shooting with squad commands. Use machine-gun teams to suppress enemies, then move assault or bazooka teams into position to flank or attack; cover and several routes through combat areas shape your approach.
The campaign mixes squad-led firefights with solo sections and tank sequences. A cover system lets Baker take and move between positions, while gunfire and explosives can damage or destroy some obstacles. Cinematic scenes and conversations develop the squad and Baker’s experience of the war.
Players who enjoy the game often praise the squad-command combat, especially coordinating suppression and flanking rather than relying on shooting alone. Many also value its character-focused war story and cinematic presentation, while some note that the controls and squad AI can feel inconsistent or dated.
