Styx: Master of Shadows is an infiltration game with RPG elements taking place in a dark fantasy universe, where you sneak, steal and assassinate your way through as Styx, a Goblin two-centuries of age.

Play as Styx, a two-hundred-year-old goblin sneaking into the Tower of Akenash. Humans and elves guard the World-Tree and its magical Amber, while Styx searches the tower for clues to his origins and valuables to steal.
Missions send you through large, multi-level areas to assassinate targets, retrieve information, and avoid detection. You can climb, crawl through hidden passages, hide in cover, distract guards, extinguish lights, conceal bodies, or create accidents; direct combat is dangerous.
Amber grants abilities such as temporary invisibility, enhanced vision, and creating a clone to distract enemies or interact with the environment. Completing objectives and finding treasures supports progression through skill trees and equipment upgrades.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its commitment to patient, stealth-first play, where studying patrols and finding routes through layered levels can make a successful infiltration feel rewarding. Reviews also highlight Styx’s personality, the dark tower setting, and the range of abilities available for avoiding guards. Others find the experience frustrating, citing awkward movement, inconsistent detection, weak direct combat, and repeated areas.
