On Kameshima, a remote island in Ise Bay, young pearl diver Yuza Minakuchi encounters another version of himself underwater. As curses begin to strike the island, he and a cast of locals and visitors investigate the Mermaids of Ise, each following their own questions and motives.
Play through multiple characters' perspectives as their stories and timelines intersect. Examine panoramic 360-degree scenes for clues, question characters, read case files, and make choices that help reveal what happened.
New story segments open as you uncover information, and puzzles draw on details gathered across the different viewpoints. A diving mini-game lets you collect underwater finds and improve skills; choices and discoveries shape the route through the story and its endings, with some puzzles involving the game interface itself.
In the supplied reviews, players often enjoy piecing together the island's layered mystery, following the intersecting character stories, and seeing clues and folklore come together. The cast, regional legends, visual presentation, music, and puzzles that involve the player beyond ordinary dialogue also receive recurring praise; some players particularly enjoy the diving mini-game.
