In a cyberpunk future, humanity is close to extinction and holds out in the last city of Bezoar. You play as Major Fletcher, a soldier sent to fight the machines threatening the city and the Sanctuary, a network containing digitized human minds.
Fight through enemy-filled levels in first person, using two firearms with multiple firing modes to handle robot and cyborg forces. Dash to evade attacks, and turn explosive objects and other environmental hazards against enemies.
Upgrade your weapons and abilities as you advance through the campaign. The Redux edition adds a cyber-katana, a new cyborg enemy type, and a quick-dash move; levels can also be replayed, and New Game+ carries upgrades into another run.
Players who enjoy the game often praise its neon-lit cyberpunk setting, explosive combat, and flexible weapons, describing it as a brisk, old-school shooter. Some also like its concise campaign and replay options. Other reviews find the fights and enemy encounters repetitive, with tanky foes and a story that doesn’t hold their interest.
