Aliens versus Predator Classic 2000 is a first-person sci-fi shooter with three campaigns, each placing you in the role of a Colonial Marine, an Alien, or a Predator. The missions unfold across environments including starships, space stations, colonial bases, and alien landscapes.
Each species has its own tools and approach. Marines use firearms and a motion tracker to fight hostile creatures; Predators stalk prey with weapons, vision modes, and cloaking; Aliens move quickly, climb walls and elevator shafts, and attack at close range.
The edition includes the original Gold Edition levels, the Millennium Expansion Pack, bonus episodes, and a single-player Skirmish mode against endless Alien hordes. Multiplayer is also included, with options to host or join games through an in-game lobby or Steam invites.
Players who enjoy the game often point to the distinct experiences of its three campaigns, especially the Marine campaign’s tense, dark atmosphere. Reviews also praise the species-specific abilities and the game’s retro appeal. Others find its controls dated, its levels confusing to navigate, and its difficulty frustrating.
