Grimhold

From the Devs

Grimhold is the last fortress between the world of the living and everything that wants it gone. Wave after wave, the darkness hurls its legions at your wall — goblins, undead, dragons, demons and worse — and only your heroes stand in the way. Build your line of defense, master each hero's powers, chain devastating synergies and push through ten acts of siege, all the way to the Belly of the Hunger. You will fall. And when you do, you'll rise stronger, unlock new champions and try again — because in Grimhold, every defeat is the start of a better run.

◆ HOLD THE WALL ◆

The darkness does not negotiate. It comes in waves — each one bigger, faster and crueler than the last — and the wall of Grimhold is all that stands against it. Place your heroes with purpose, read the battlefield and turn the tide back before it reaches the gate. Ten acts, each with its own horde, its own land and its own bosses, take you from goblin raids in the desert to the far side of the Rift. Every wave you survive brings the next one closer. Every wall you hold is one the darkness has to break again.

◆ COMMAND 23 HEROES ◆

From the arcane mage Krash to the ruthless executioner Zylvara, all the way to Malachar himself, Grimhold puts 23 distinct heroes in your hands — each with their own class, abilities, preferred post on the grid and their own epilogue. Unlock them through conquest by beating brutal challenges, then shape them with a tree of 230 skills and 131 relics. No two defenders play alike, and no run demands the same team. The right hero in the right place turns a doomed wall into an unbreakable one.

◆ CHAIN YOUR SYNERGIES ◆

Heroes are stronger together. With 17 class synergies and 188 upgrade cards, how you build your line matters as much as who stands on it — combine the right champions and watch a modest defense explode into a machine that shreds whole waves before they get close. Between waves, encounters with merchants, pacts and choices come back to collect their price. The darkness adapts. So must you.

◆ FALL, LEARN, RISE◆

Grimhold is a roguelike to the bone: you will lose runs, and that's the point. Every defeat feeds permanent progress that unlocks heroes, relics and mastery. Forge permanent upgrades between attempts, gather essence toward lasting power and return to the wall sharper than before. The siege resets — you don't. Progress is never erased, only earned.

◆ CHOOSE YOUR SIEGE ◆

Play the way you want to be tested:

• Endless — the ten acts in sequence, with no final wave and no mercy. Pick the map of any act you've unlocked.

• Lone Guardian — a single hero you move with WASD, also endless

• Randomizer — enemies from every act, rolled each wave.

• Pacifist— explore builds without pressure.

With 80 achievements, a bestiary of 179 catalogued enemies and a battle pass full of unlockables, there's always one more wall to hold — and one more reason to come back.

◆ EARLY ACESS ◆

Grimhold enters Early Access on October 30, 2026 with the full ten-act campaign. Upcoming updates bring new heroes and new content. The price will go up at 1.0.
