We Love It's Guide to…

Monster Hunter: World

You join the Fifth Fleet, an expedition sent to the New World to investigate the Elder Crossing and the colossal elder dragon Zorah Magdaros. Quests take you into varied habitats to hunt monsters in a wildlife-filled ecosystem. Prepare for hunts, follow monster tracks with Scoutflies, and use a choice of 14 distinct weapon types. Tools such as the Slinger and specialized equipment let you interact with your surroundings, while a Palico companion provides support. You can hunt alone or team up with up to three other players. Hunted monsters yield materials for crafting and upgrading weapons and armor. Better equipment helps you take on more dangerous hunts, while choosing weapons and gear skills gives you ways to tailor your preparation and approach.

As a Fifth Fleet hunter in the New World, track colossal beasts, use their habitats to your advantage, and craft gear from each hunt.
