Kazuma Kiryu has left the yakuza life to run the Morning Glory Orphanage in Okinawa with Haruka Sawamura. When threats to the orphanage draw him back into conflict, he becomes entangled in a struggle involving the Tojo Clan and political interests.
Explore Okinawa and Tokyo’s Kamurocho district, taking on street fights and story missions as Kiryu moves between family life and the criminal underworld. Optional substories and activities—including minigames—offer diversions around the cities.
Combat centers on hand-to-hand fighting, with moves, counters, weapons, and special attacks to use against opponents. Earn upgrades to expand Kiryu’s abilities, and encounter street scenes that can reveal new techniques.
Players who praise the game often point to Kiryu’s quieter life at the orphanage, the character-focused story, and Okinawa’s distinct atmosphere. Some also enjoy the substories and cast. Combat is a recurring point of criticism, especially enemies’ frequent blocking and the dated feel, though some players say upgrades and learning its mechanics make fights more enjoyable. Many sampled reviews also focus on complaints about the game’s store availability and bundling rather than the game itself.
