Bayonetta, the last survivor of an ancient witch clan, awakens after 500 years with little knowledge of her past. As angels attack, she fights through a chain of events while searching for the truth about herself.
Combat centers on chaining attacks with an arsenal of weapons and dodging at the last moment to trigger Witch Time, which slows the action. Bayonetta can also use supernatural powers, including demon-summoning attacks, to finish enemies.
